I recently bought a number of NOE molds, a 8mm 326-242G-RN, a 9mm 358-135G-FN, and a .44 434421. I am interested in people's experience with NOE molds as to how close to those diameters these bullets will drop.

I only have one and it is marked 0.226 and with my 50/50 Range scrap and WW with a little tin added it drops between 0.226 and 0.227.

I have four of the NOE molds and they all drop about .001" over the stated size. Perfect, they are my favorite molds.

My NOE 425-429 mold drops allot big, I'm not home or I would check exactly how oversize it is but I'm not. Here's the deal though, I don't care if a mold drops to big, lead is soft and will mold to the size of the bore. If it were casting small it would be worthless, I don't mind a large lead slug as it really hasn't caused me any issues. Only thing its ever caused is having to bell the case a bit more than I would have wanted. And that really doesn't bother me much.

I have way TOO many NOE molds and depending on the alloy I choose most drop at or 0.001" over spec.
I have never had an undersized mold !

I have the 358-135fn in a 5 cavity. It drops .358 as close as I can measure it and right at 135gr using range scrap. Supremely accurate in my 9mm and 38 special. Wonderful mold!

+.001" seems to be the norm for NOE. Excellent quality control.

Closer than I can measure, more than good enough for me and my rifles.

I concur with everyone else, either right on or .001 over. But I only have 27 or so.

Concur on all the above and the consistency of NOE moulds.

However, alloy, alloy temperature and mould temperature can all affect final diameter.

Here is a sample Al did just varying the mould temperature.

Both molds I've cast with were right on. Very impressed.

The last couple of 4 cavity's have dropped large, two and three thousand over. The bullets are a little bit heavier than listed, the 454255 drops about 260gr's and the 434235 drops about 238gr's. Others that I've bought earlier didn't drop that much over.
