Still haven't gotten my gun yet, but trying to "get ready". Does anyone know if the Lyman #2 sight for the Uberti 1873 will fit the new Miroku 1873?

I think a tang messes up the carry of these guns.

Yeah, but it makes some of us, more advanced in years, able to see the sights better. Shoot Straight, T-Bird

I don't know if this will help, but my Miroku 1873 has a 2.2" hole spacing on the tang, I'm not sure what the Uberti's are.
I installed a Skinner barrel mount peep on mine.

I was disappointed with the new Lyman tang sight I got for my 94. the base did not lay flat and the adjustability is not very precise. Maybe it was just a fluke ?? I think I may get a marbles some day to compare.

I think I found a very good chart dealing with this subject while researching Marble tang sights. I'll see if I can find it.

See if this works.

Sorry for the late response.Been out of town welcoming a new granddaughter.TGN the link worked. Thank you. Thanks for all the responses. I assume that since there is no Winchester ( Japan) 1873 on the chart , that this means they're all the same? Shoot Straight, TBird

Congrats on the grandbaby! All I could gather was that the Cimmaron/Uberti was different from the Winchester but there was no distinction for Japanese-built 1873's. I'd shoot them a quick e-mail, cheaper than return postage.

Thanks for the congrats TGN- this is my 2nd grandchild and they are just wonderful. Just hard to believe when it's quiet, and I think about it, that I'm in the place in my life that I'm someone's grandfather. Anyway, the Email suggestion is a good one will do that. Shoot Straight, T-Bird
