SO i know you can reload once fired j-words. Is there anything i should consider with reloading these or reload them just the same as i did before.

Yes:

Firing changes the shape, diameter, and cleanlyness of the projectile. If you clean and size you can shoot them just dont expect much. I've refired a few for giggles but its not like your going to save anything. Cast your own, recover, melt down, recast...repeat!

Never tried it myself, none of my recovered bullets are "straight" enough. I would mike the diameter in several places and not expect much accuracy...

I have reloaded and fired many .45 cal. FMJ ball slugs that had been shot into a snow bank and recovered after the melt. No problems. They are clean and not deformed except for the rifling.

You guys up there are sooo lucky to have all of those snow banks to shoot into... we never get that stuff here in Florida ;)

Lucky is one way to describe it! I have heard other descriptions, especially after this past record snowfall year.

Yeah I would not say we were lucky, Well I do own a snowmobile so In that sense yes we where lucky. And Those snow banks did catch afew of my bullets to try to reload.

I'd rather smelt them down, cast some up and sell the jackets.

Frozen ground covered with snow is a boolit caster's friend.
Every spring I walk my range before the grass starts growing and pick up a bucket of boolits just laying on the ground grinning at me. I also pile snow with the plow along the right side of the shooting area... in the spring there's a pile of auto-pistol brass just laying there for me.

But, with that said... I ain't a huge fan of cold and snow...

Could do with some sooner as we are already in the high 90's here and higher to come. The humidity is the slayer for me and it cuts down on the outdoor activities for most of the day. This is what a Texas snow man looks like:

What's snow,it's kind of like that stuff one gets from a snow cone stand, only more of it.:-P

I have never found any that were good enough to re-use.Good luck

For a number of years an acquaintance shot only used 50 bmg bullets. IIRC they were only 50 cents each.
