Was wondering if anyone has ever used this boolit. It says its a bore riding nose design. I've never heard of the design. Can anyone explain it?

A bore riding bullet has two diameters. The forward diameter is the bore diameter, and the rear diameter is groove diameter. The idea is the "bore riding" portion slides along the tops of the lands and keeps the bullet coaxial with the barrel, while the larger rear portion engages the rifling and imparts spin to the bullet.

Some people like them and have very good results. Others say they can be started into the rifling crooked and are difficult to get to shoot well. I've had good results with them, and suspect that the problems I've read about are related to ammo loaded with the bullets eccentric to begin with.

I use it very successfully in my 7x57. Softnosed it has some impressive kills to its credit.

Nice retention , I was thinking of loading these in a 7br for plunking long range. Wanted to see if they would group at 500. Thanks for the info

Testing a bore riding 358009 in my 35 whelen now. Initial results were Very good with both gc and pb versions.....I love it. Trying to up the speed on it but it'll work right where it's at now. It has .151" engagement marks from the rifling with a snug fit in throat on nose band just to keep the gc. even with base of case neck. Had no case stretch and no pressure signs so far. This bore rider may well become my favorite boolit.

It's my favorite boolit in XP100 7BR. Used 20 gr. 4895 for chicken, pig, & turkey. Then went to 24 gr. for rams. Shot many 40's
