Just checking to see if anyone has put some time into loading either of these molds. Looking at future purchases for the collection. To be used in various .30 bolt guns and .300 Blackout.

Thanks for any input.

In the .30-'06 we are using 16 grs. of #2400 and getting 2-inch ten-shot groups at 100 yards in a group of 03 Springfields. Without the GC anywhere from 6 to 8 grains of Bullseye, or 8.5 grs. of WST also shoots in the 2-inch range at 100.

In the Garand 40 grs. of 4064 cycles the rifle well, gives 2200 fps and accuracy equal to HXP ball.

We are using the Ed Harris -5 version cast 7 pounds of Linotype to 15 pounds COWW with LLA,, Hornady gaschscks, sizsd .312, the plainbased gallery loads as-cast and unsized. TW ball cases, WLR primers, case necks dxpanded .309".with RCBS cast bullet expander.

Great to hear some good accuracy with it. By chance, do you know the BHN of those bullets your pouring? Any plans on using it for hunting? Thanks for the info!

Our alloy is about 15 BHN. No plans to hunt with it.

Anything from the blackout crowd?

I have seen mixed reviews regarding the BLKout. I think the M4 ramps and a throat that is not too tight are going to be a must using the Harris version. Too much FP.

I've been using the Lee version of the 312-155 R in 300 Blackout. So far the only issue is that it casts .314 and when I size it down to .310 the grooves get erased. I can run it to 1800 fps without leading but have started backing down the load as the temp here hits the 80s. The AAC throat has been a problem so I've set my hopes on the NOE 311414 (need 3 more people to sign up for it!). I've found that 1680 is much more accurate than H110 for this application.

I have both of these molds. The 312-155-R I use in 300 blk and 308 win. It has just a slightly wider ogive than the standard LEE bullet.
Seemed to tighten the groups a bit esp with the 308. Have also loaded them in 7.62x39, 7.62x54, 30-30 bolt gun, and 303 brit. All good results.

The 160 Harris FP I use in the 7.62x39 and my 30-30's. I tried these in my Savage M#10 308 win. It did not like them at all.
Worked and fed fine in my 300 BLK. But since I have both I prefer the 312-155-R for that use.
The most surprising thing I found was how much my 30-30's like this bullet. They are now the only bullets I cast for the 30-30.

Real happy with both these molds, glad I got both. But if you can only get one... Get the 312-155-R its more versatile.

Hey if that thing is dropping at .314. If you get sick of it, you may have a ready market with the 303 Brit bunch.
I bet they would like that one.
Sell it and get a 312 version.

I also have some 312-160-5 FP cast ready to size for my 300 Blk. If you used a Lyman/RCBS top punch in your sizer, please give me the number TP you used.

Thanks,
Jeff
