Corning black powder is nothing more than pressing it into pucks letting it dry, breaking up the pucks, grinding into
grains & then sorting the grains by size threw screens.

Bob your memory shows you are getting old,Ha Ha.I,m the one that introduced you to it.I think it's on the ole thread line 20
or maybe just our posting back & forth.
I have corned powder for years with my fireworks. But you MUST remember I,m very lazy,Mmmmmmmmmm.I went
on the mission to see if screen powder would work in muzzle loaders.

Oh well we have fun, don't we.I still need to make it to friendship, & meet you & Pete & the rest.

I could have sworn that you were waiting to see if I blew myself up before you bought one. It was at your suggestion that I bought it though. Sure beats wailing on the pucks with a ball bat.:drinks:

How small do you have to crunch up the pucks before the grinder will handle it?

Yea & it is ceramic, so no sparks. That is VERY important on any of this stuff. We can't
over think safety on any of this.I always say, no sparks, no heat, no worry.I never
want to see anyone hurt or killed.

Lets have fun Fly

You can get away with a little bit bigger than that but it makes it easier to keep them in that ball park.

Fly, both knees have been replaced, 1st one Sep 23rd and the 2nd Dec 9th. Rehab for me went really well. I had friends giving me all of the horror stories of the pain and suffering during rehab. To be honest I didn't think that it was all that bad. I went in with a positive attitude and did the exercises religiously. My doctor and physical therapist said that they were impressed with the speed of my recovery. I have always been a quick healer and have a pretty high threshold of pain so that may have helped. They don't work quite like the OEM parts but close enough at my age and there is no pain. I was deer hunting 3 weeks after the 1st knee, carefully mind you, but hunting.
I went turkey hunting in April on some pretty steep and rough ground and the biggest problem was that someone made those hills steeper than they use to be. I use to go right up them but for some reason I had to stop to catch my breath several times. I am walking 1.5 miles almost every morning. I could do more but that works out to where I get to the shop at 8 or shortly after. Next project is to go out the state park and hit some of the hiking trails, they are longer and steeper. I use to hit those 4 to 5 times a week back when I was guiding out west to stay in shape. It helped a lot, although nothing can get you ready for the 7000ft change in altitude.
JMHO but if they are hurting get it done. Ask around for the best doctor. I have a customer who is a doctor and he recommended the guy I used. He does 3 to 4 a day 3 days a week, practice makes perfect. If you only need 1 done, it is a piece of cake.

Fly,

The operative phrase is "go in with a positive attitude and do the exercises religiously."

If you observe that piece of wisdom you will be fine.

By the way, thanks for the small essay on corning. It is very valuable for us to see what type of equipment you are using.
