I mentioned that I have an RCBS Sizer/luber that is not being used, I had one person who bugged me about wanting me to sell it. I counted up the dies and punches to found that I have 25 dies and a bunch of punches.

This person said he only had $175 and was trying to work me down. I said $225 or lots of trade plus cash. The things that I am interested are for my toys, like M14 mags, molds, good 1911 mags, etc. This person went thru a list of rifles and pistols, that was impressive, expensive also. When I said no to his offers, because he wasn't going to part with any of his stuff, I thought that was it. I went over to my lady friends place for a Steelers party (Bad Night in Pittsburgh), mentioned to a guy there (who I knew he wanted to get into casting)about this sizer he offered me $300 for the whole thing without a hesitation, I hadn't gotten to any sort of price yet, but he wanted to buy it sight unseen.

Then I come back and miraculously the person interested in this sizer deal had $225 and was willing to send it out the next business day. I said that somebody else has offered me more. I try to be up front and forth right about deals, I even kick extra when I can. I want people to treat me the same, if you own an M1a and have Chip McCormick 1911 magazines your are not poor, so don't act poor. Please do not waste my time trying to get me to come down on my prices, I was way below any decent pricing on this sizer.

I started with a Classic Lee Loader, Lee 8mm Mauser bullet mold and a Sporterized 1898 Mauser that was 43 years ago. My kitchen stove was used to heat my lead. That is shooting on a budget and being poor.

The guy who offered me $300 came over to where I live and we talked about his getting in to casting. He played with my Star sizer for a couple hundred bullets that I had cast that morning. He now wants to buy a Star for himself. So I will probably donate the RCBS sizer to some gun club, or just leave it where it is at.

Jerry, I have run into a pile of people like that over the years. And like you, if someone isn't going to come through on a deal, I move along. Indecision on thier part, doesn't slow up processes for me. I actually kind of enjoy it, when they come back later to make a deal, only to find the item has gone to a new home. Some seem to think they were playing some sort of bargaining game. Not with me. If something is for sale, money talks, BS walks. The looks on thier faces are worth more than the toy, many times.

Waksupi.

So we both seem to agree. I generally pay or sell or trade to the level that both sides are happy, because later I may want to deal with them again, so I don't play games. With the sizer dies I could sell them separately and make $250 to $300 or more just from them and the lube/sizer sell it for $50 to $75. I was asking for $225.00 when I started the deal. This would have been a great deal for the right person. Now I may make some gun club happy or start using it for a lamp.

The guy from Pittsburgh would have been happy for a while with the RCBS unit, he would have found out about the Star sizers eventually and is very capable of buying one. Then what does he do with the RCBS? Of course trade it somebody who could use it for a decent price.

When I give a good deal, it really is a good deal. Plus Ron, the guy from Pittsburgh I told him to join the CBA. So I may not have sold the sizer, but we gained a member.
