Thought I posted this in a more complete form yesterday, but can not find it.

Short version

Will the 1:12 be friendly to the 225462 an 225415.

Want to reproduce 22 Mag velocities and make it a straight pull repeater.

Plan to use PROMO unless it will not perform.

The 1-12" twist AR will be very cast bullet friendly with the 225415 and, in particular, the 225462. My own 12" twist AR shoots the 225462 upwards of 2300+ fps very well.

That's a GREAT idea.
Might be worthwhile to get a side charger upper if you want to do a straight pull rifle. Might also consider disabling the gas system to prevent possible short strokes.

Not even getting close to a short stroke with my low powered fast powder loading

Why not get a bolt gun? I find myself wondering.

Versatility. Swap uppers and you have a totally different gun.

The only reason I don't get a bolt gun in 223 is, because I really don't want to.

My quest is to find a lower powered (read QUIET, so I can shoot at home) cast boolit load for something I already have and then practice with it.

Looking at your pic I am loading quite a bit longer OAL and the boolit is engaging he rifling for some 15-30 Thousandths (WAG on my part here).

Will try some at an estimateof your OAL tomorrow.

NOW where in the Heck is my .225" sizing die??????

I built a 20" 5.56 upper 1x12 using a Fulton Armory SS barrel. Would I build another 1x12 for cast, NOPE. I find that all 3 of my 1x9s shoot just great with the same cast boolitz that I wanted a 1x12 for. My latest ACE mold drops 78Gr with my WW alloy, checked and lubed. the 1x12 struggles to stabilize them. It shoots the NOE 225-55 FN, Both Mihec Natos well. but so do all 3 of my 1x9s.

Check out White Oak armory also for 1x12 barrels and uppers.

Looking for a 1:8 or 1:9 for my BO, anyone have experience with SOTO barrels?
