Ok,

I'm shooting my first cast dedicated rifle, a Winchester 94 commemorative 38-55. I'm currently shooting a Lee .379" sized boolit. My bore measures .3795"-.380". Therefore, I have just a bit of leading but not bad.

I just ordered a new custom sizing die from Buckshot (here on the forums) at .381". Now, I'm ready to pull the trigger on an accurate mold in brass at .382". My question is it states the size can be .382" +.002/-.000. So, would a .384" boolit be hard to size in lyman 450? That's .003" worth of sizing. Since, I'm new at this I'm not sure if I should order the mold at .381 or stick to the .382?

BTW, I'm getting the 38-255G mold. I'm hoping since the 250 shoots so good, the 255 gas check will do the same.

Thanks for the advice as this mold is the most expensive yet that I've purchased.

I'd think you'd be okay doing .003" worth of sizing.

You might want to consider Lyman's new .381" bullet for the .38/55.

I'll have to check into the Lyman .381. I had not seen or heard of this mold. Thanks.

Mt Chamers,

Any links for the Lyman .381 mold? I could only find a .380". Thanks.

I use an RCBS lubrisizer to size 0.460" bullets to 0.452" with no problems.

Ok great. Thanks to everyone for their help. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too hard to size down that much. Thus far my current molds only throw raw boolits about .001 over from my sizers. I'm ordering the mold now :)
