Wild Hair on Range Day

A shooting buddy and I meet most Sundays at the range where we're both members. We both reload, cast boolits and dabble in BP. Text from him yesterday said he was bringing his old flinter, realized I had a Hawken in .54 around here that I've been meaning to shoot someday soon....for the last ten years or so.;) Last time it was fired was with some kind of BP sub, this time it'll be the real thing. I even cast some balls for it awhile back, just never have taken it to the range. Better go see if I can find everything!

Had to take back roads home from the range, pretty sure we had more fun than the law allows. ;-) We both had some essential items missing from our kits but between us we had it covered. It'll be too hot to shoot SP cartridge rifles here pretty soon, thinking the Hawken needs to find a spot on the front row of the gun safe. :-)
