There were a couple things about the old Shooter's that I really liked that are missing from Aimoo:

-The ability to reply to a post or create a new post directly from the"Today" format, without having to go to the index, find the post deserving of a reply, and reply from there. On Aimoo, I have to wait for the entire page to load (sometimes quite a while if there are a lot of pics) before I can click the "Read" button, and as often as not, it still doesn't work so I have to search for the message I want to reply to.

-Message numbers. It was real easy to reference a message number as a reply to someone asking for info, and the person could just type that number in the "search" block and go right to it. I could also keep those numbers in my own WordPad file as a personal mini-library. Using date-time-author-subject is a lot more tedious.

1) I am still working on the "Today" format. If i can make that available, I will.

2) The best I can offer on that is at the bottom of the messages you have the option to be notified by E-mail if the topic gets replies. Just click that and when someone replies to the thread, you will get an e-mail telling you that with the address of the posts in the e-mail.

I know you're working hard on this new forum, please don't take my wish list as demands. Just thought if you knew what everyone wanted it might be easier to build it in now rather than later.

We all appreciate all you're doing, even if we don't quite know why yet. I'm sure the reasons willl be known soon enough. The turmoil we went through when Shooters collapsed was enough, we don't need it again!

I would like to the feature of being able to view the first few lines of a post when the curser is parked on the post like the other site. I like being able to check out a post this way rather than always having to open it. It is especially helpful when going back to search for a post.

Can there be a "mark all topics read" on the home page to cover all forums?

There is, if you look down low on the forums on the main page (I think it's above a few topics, there is a "mark all posts read".

Bigscot
I like that feature too, I will see what I can do on that.

How about a way to delete an individual post that you have made?

Yeah, we need that badly. Take a look at my messages referred to by 45-2.1. Need a delete button, or a program that runs randomly looking for the word trash or delete as the only word in the body of the message. ... felix

The reason members don't have a "Delete" option is because they could go back to any post they have ever made and delete it, and if other posts where made based on what that post said things could start to get very confusing. If you need a post deleted just edit it and put "DELETE" in it so that a moderator can delete it.

We already have that on the old board. It's the only way to get rid of a bum post. ie one that the picture is bad on or other things.

This option may not be available with the new program but is there anyway part of the message can be shown when holding the pointer over the message heading instead of having to click on each message to see it? I know it's petty but I was just wondering. Everything looks great otherwise.

Thanks,
Beau

Thats kind of a tough one to impliment, but I am working on that, and getting Pictures / Quotes to look correctly in the Today page.

More suggestions:

-The "Today" feature is great, except it only includes the last post on a topic, and the post a reply is posted to disappears. Can "Today" include ALL posts?

-Would it be difficult to put the page number (Page 1,2,3,...n) at the top of the page as well as at the bottom? Even better, can the pages be expanded to have more than the 20 or so posts it is now limited to? (fewer page changes for us poor dial-up users)

-The "Today" feature removes all paragraph breaks, making some posts difficult to read because of what appear to be run-on sentences. Can paragraph breaks be included?

-The 2,000 charactor display limit on posts covers most posts, but not all. Can it be increased even more? Similarly, the "*" search does the formatting and includes all posts, but is limited to only 1,000 charactors. Can that limit also be increased to, say, 5,000 charactors?

You've done a fine job with this new home! Thanks for everything you've done!
