Need a 4 cavity or better 41 mag boolit mold. My 210 grain RCBS casts and shoots great, but I just need more production. Sure wish Lee made a 6 cavity version of their 195 SWC. Anyway, Can y'all recommend a maker that you're happy with? Something that might work with tumble lube occasionally would be great also.

I have an NOE 4 cavity 230 grain HP mold, it is pretty nice. If you don't get the HP you can get a 5 cavity. Its a very nice mold, I would recommend it. For production speed, I would not get the HP mold, it is certainly slower.

Anything by MP, NOE or Accurate. I've got several 41 molds and most are 4 cavity. I've got only one that is a 2 cavity GC design in brass. All will rain down the bullets. My newest is a 4c PB MP 411640 that if you scroll down a bit, can find a thread on it with pictures. PM me if you want any details.

I love the one I have, I was lucky enough to not pay anywhere near Retail the the used one I bought. If you can afford it, you'll love it.

Four cavity aluminum molds from Accurate Molds are excellent.

They sure look good. Just having a hard time pulling the trigger on those pricey jewels after buying so many Lee 6 cavities. Are they worth the difference?

Lee six-cavity molds are excellent. If they offer a mold for a bullet that satisfied your needs, you cannot do much better. The only problem with Lee gang molds is bullet style availability. So, get the Lee if they have what you want, pay for a custom mold from Tom at Accurate Molds if you need a custom mold.

As a follow up, I just looked at the Lee 41 caliber molds, and I wouldn't be satisfied with either bullet (only two available), and neither can be had in a six cavity mold anyway. My own molds for the 41 Rem Mag are four cavity molds from LBT and Accurate. The LBT mold is 240 grain, WFN with gas check, and the Accurate mold is # 41-240K, which Tom designed for me to fit the short cylinder of my Freedom Arms M97 revolver.

NEI has some great designs. Joel seems to have figured out the mold business. I've had three projects through there since Walt left us and the results have been good turning to better.

The absolute best casting mold I ever had was a Hensley & Gibbs #256 from their San Diego days. I sold it to a member here because it doesn't look like I will ever find the .41 that I want. I did cast up a coffee can of boolits before I sold it though.

I still remember the last time I cast with it; 148 boolits, 147 perfect, 1 incomplete fillout due to my not having enough lead in the ladle.

IF, and it is a big if, you can find an un-molested H&G mold for an affordable price, buy it and you will not be sorry. I do not know what they are going for now, I haven't kept up on prices.

Failing that, I would buy a new mold from Tom at Accurate Molds.

The best casting mold I owned was an Accurate 45-230F 5 cavity aluminum. Now that title may be up for grabs by the Ballisti-Cast 4-cavity .308 mold I broke in yesterday. You can go as high as ten cavities on the B.C.'s, but they work only in iron and are cost accordingly.

The B.C. #858 is Elmer Keith's 220 grain design, and the Accurate 41-220K appears to be pretty much the same. This was one of Elmer's later designs after he had a lot of experience under his belt. Were I a .41 shooter, I'd have to try that one.

I have decided that four cavity moulds are my favourite. I have three MP Molds 4 cavity HP moulds. A group buy for the 411640 and 413640 finished just a few weeks ago so there is a good chance that Miha will still have some extras. I cannot recommend his moulds highly enough and many others will agree. Accurate moulds are excellent although I don't have one in .41. I have a four cavity Saeco 411, a great bullet. Also an eight cavity Saeco 413 and 418 in the same mould and 414 four cavity (.41 AE). I have a H&G 246 eight cavity. Plus various 2 cavity moulds.

My recommendation would be MP Molds.

Simon.

I bought a 4C PB mold during the GB. It is a very accurate boolit and I have driven them to excess of 1350fps with LilGun and no leading. A fantastic design. Actually, I haven't tried a bad 41 boolit yet. I've got several 41 molds.
