Well the Mrs. got her first pistol last month, a FS M&P 9mm, and took the Basic Handgun course 2 weekends ago. After the course she said she would like to go out Mother's Day weekend, so she could get some more practice. Plus we have 2 boys that are getting excited to go to the range.

After a few magazines, she was putting 10 rounds in a 6" circle at 10 yards. So she tried out the plate rack, which she seemed to be hitting low on, but still had a good time. Here are a few pics of her ringing some steel, with some cast Mihec 359-125 sized at .358", lubed with Randy Rat's TAC1, and charged with 4.5gr's of Unique.

Kids got a chance to try out an air-soft gun on some paper targets too.

Good Job!!!

I also took the wife to the range yesterday. I watched her shoot with a sense of pride and accomplishment. I changed her targets for her made sure her mags were kept full and picked up the spent 45acp brass. In all she had a great time and I had fun watching her shoot.

Me and mine went Saturday. She fired about 100 rounds out of her new STI Electra 9mm. This is her first gun, but after about 25 rounds, l don't think I would want her shooting at me.

Great stuff!! Does your wife already show the skill and ability of a well seasoned shooter. I;ve noticed women always pick up shooting much faster. Not sure why, but just my experience.

She is doing very well for as little as she has shot. This was her 3rd outing this year, and has shot about 300 rounds through the M&P so far--which is her first firearm and just for range plinking. She tried out a few, and this one fit her hand well, and she could manipulate the slide--unlike a lot of the compact models. She did try out her brother's CZ75 after we picked up the M&P and she really liked the ergonomics of that--so if the M&P isn't her thing after she shoots it some more she may try move on, or perhaps have an Apex FSS kit installed. She tried a Witness Match in 45 and shot it very well, but the weight was just too much for her. Funny thing was to see her come right back to get another magazine to shoot the plate rack, and I can remember her not being to pleased when I bought it last year.

The most embarrassing thing was when I made up some really light loads for her to try, and in the first range trip she was shooting it better than me, and then asked me to load them hotter in front of her father & brother.

then asked me to load them hotter in front of her father & brother.

So the unspoken question - "Do they sell men's ammunition where you bought these?"
