I recently picked up a Marlin 1894s chambered in 45LC and I want to shoot the Cast Performance 265 WFNGC. I have quite a bit of powder on hand and I need a load that is a thumper. Any help is appreciated.

I would suggest some good published reloading data from the bullet or powder makers. I would also suggest taking a look at the thickness of that Marlin barrel on the bottom under the chamber and contemplating how much of a "thumper" load you are wanting to fire in it.

45colt carbine
250gr XTP with 296
1700fps

360gr WFNGC with 296
1400fps

300gr Sierra with 296
1425 fps

Those all thump pretty good out of my carbine

45-270-SAA with 13.5gr HS-6
1360fps out of 1894CB

Thanks for the info. I have a pretty good supply of Buffalo Bore 260 grain JHP +p that has a advertised velocity of 1450 fps in a pistol. I read where they are shooting around 1700-1750 fps in a rifle. I also have a 4 3/4 inch Model 83 Freedom arms pistol in 454 casull that I was planning to shoot cast out of with the 454 brass but want be loading it real hot, just up to around 1000 fps should do it for me. I just can't take the recoil of a pistol like I used to. Getting old.
