OK. I have been reading around and I have this to ask.

What molds work in your standerd Pmag for the AR

Looking to load
125(ish grain)
150-160
180 ish
230

What molds work well at them sizes ( again I'm new to casting ) I have a 230 I'm getting from someone.

Question 2
Gas checks- now for the 180-230 range I'll be loading subsonic so from what I see no GC is needed( tell me if wrong). Just lube/size yes?

Question 3
Lower weight 120-180 do I need GC supersonic?

Question 4 and my final.
Lube VS coating

Lube seams fairy simple

Now powder coating and other types.

The whole colored types thing looks cool. But what are the costs intailed and pros/con's?

1.I am using this mold for my .300 Blackout with it works with about every Mag. that I have tried. I did size them .309 at first with a Lee push through sizer I was getting groups of about 3 inches at 100 yards not good enough for me. So I lubed them with Alox lube and tried loading them un sized groups was about 1 1/2 inch

2. sub -sonic being about 1000 FPS there is no real gain for a gas check
3. check out this group buy for a 150 Gr. mold

Check out the powder coating section, for that, and other alternative methods.

For myself, I'm doing well with the Lee 312-155-2r in front of 15.7gn of w296, with the oal as long as you can get it without malfunctions. I size .311. I have not chronographed it because I'm lazy and this is the most accurate combo I have found. Powder coat and LLA shoot about the same accuracy wise. Powder coated and checked, they are right at 160gn with COWW. The powder coat adds some diameter to the nose, so I do shoot modified pmags. I just use a long file and file down the ridge that the follower rides on...don't know the proper name for it. I have some Hi-Tek ready to shoot, but Im having trouble finding powder. I'm wanting to get the Lee 309-170 to work. Accuracy is good, but feeding is a problem with the larger meplat. I know some guys are doing it, but I don't know how they are modifying their feed ramps.

You might try D&H @ Wilson combat for a real BO mag, it's a 30 rounder. File the ribs on the gen3 Pmags so they clear the ogive you use. Find some good glue to fasten ~0.010 thick strips behind the ribs to make a real shoulder stop. Manually cycle the bolt to make sure the nose goes into the ramp OK, a full mag of dummy rounds. You can touch up the ramps to make the nose clear. Or you can accept being limited to moulds that fit the existing mags & ramp. Your choice.
