I knew I should not have gone. lol Didn't have any business spending any money, buuut that never works. lol

There was some decent deals, picked up 100 new 338 win mag for 25 bucks. I went looking for another scope for the 340 savage , but wound up with another 222 and a 22 hornet instead, both of which needs scopes now, so the scope on the 340 is just going to have to stay a while longer. lol I knew I shouldn't have cast those little 22 pills last night.

The scary thing is I had to leave right after making the deal on the guns, both of which were on the same table, but different owners, so I have to go back tomorrow and see if I can scare up some dies and brass for the hornet. lol

Yea I hear you, I got a nice little 22 hornet today, but it looks like brass is unobtainable, about like 22 ammo. lol The good thing is Starla is out of state, sooo it was easy sneaking in a couple new rifles up into the cubbyhole. lol

That is too easy lol

Brass does pop up on here now and then.

I went to our little locale VFW show today and found a few items. 22-250 brass for 5 cents each seemed like a bargain, so I
got 150. Found a decent deal on a Lyman 55 powder measure - never have tried one, will see how it compares to my
Uniflows. The final deal was a Webley Mk II in sound condition but refinished, plus a box of Fiocchi ammo and some empties
made from .45 Colt. Discussing a mold with Miha now. Pretty good for a tiny show.

How do 340's in Hornet shoot cast? I have seen a few around and wondered if they would do
well with boolits.

I don't know, my 340 or 342 what ever it is is actually a revolation, and I just this last week got everything to cast and load for it, but it is a 222. The 22 hornet I picked up yesterday is a model 23d. So I haven't fired either one yet, but I went back this morning and did find 11 pieces of brass and a set of dies, plus getting a set of collet dies and some more brass from a member.
So I haven't fired either one of them yet, hope to know more next week, but I supposedly go back to work this wek and will not have much time to messs with them for a few months.

I also picked up an old weaver 2 to 7 that should look good on the mohawk I picked up yesterday. This was actually a pretty good show, good enough it caused me to spend a lot more than I intended too. lol

Ohhhh! 222 Good for you! I got a Savage blond stock 222. Too pretty to consider refinishing. Almost a "one of a kind" And you know the rep? Good shooters!! ..... Lee

I have an old 340 in 30/30 that has a real light colored stock, but the stock needs refinishing, the stock on the 222 is a replacement and pretty nice and unique. All the old savages are eventually going to my grandson with the exception of the 99, and the left hand bolts, which goes to my son. LOL So far my grandson, who is only 3 has a 22, 22 hornet, 222, 30/30, and a 12 gauge, all savages and all way older than I am. lol

Starmac,
I'll be back in Ak. about the middle of next month and IIRC I have some Sako 22Hornet brass. Possibly factory loaded too.

I take it you went after the new trailers. Holler when you get back, it actually sounds like I will be in anchorage a couple times a week, at least for a while.

I already got the fresh wagons! No problems on that run.
I'm on the other side of the world now with the family. It's actually warm here 60+ and the fruit trees are full of blossoms! Not to mention the mini skirts are coming out! :awesome:
