After a way too long absence from the casting table and the range, I managed to get some of both time in over the last week.
This is my Colt XSE, after digesting 300 of MIHECs 200 grain LSWC (mold #452-200-SWC which I bought on a group buy here) and
followed by 100 of NOE's 452-230-RF hollow points cast with NOE's 452-230 grain-RF hollowpoints, which I bought directly from NOE.
All of these bullets were cast with range scrap, sized in a Lyman 4500 to .452, lubed with 30-30-30 (beeswax from Randy, LOX and carnauba from Lars)
All were loaded with 5 grains of Hodgdon HP38. I was very happy with accuracy from both rounds, especially the 230 grain hollow points.
The other 1,000 rounds of SWC I loaded will be going with me to a steel challenge match in a couple of weeks.

The Colt is sooty dirty all the way to the ejection port. It's a very happy Colt!

I've got the MiHec mold and have shot thousands of them through my various 1911s through the years. Put over 250 of them down range today loaded in front of 4gr TightWAD. Super clean, accurate and inexpensive to shoot. What's not to love.

I'd like to know more about the railed 1911 in the background. I had a Smith E series 1911 TA that I had to let go due to finances that I really wish I had back. I loved that thing. It would shoot like a house on fire. My current 1911 is a Sig STX. It's no slouch either. I REALLY love the adjustable night sights.

I had to look to see what you were talking about. The railed 1911 you see is a Colt 1070RG. It was in the lineup to get cleaned tonight as well. It generally does night duty on the bed table while wearing a streamlight. I put a couple hundred through it today too. I like to keep all the ponies well exercised. The MIHEC brass 4 cavity mold will make your wrists and forearms look like Popeye if you use it regularly. It's a heavy rascal, but makes some magnificent projectiles!
