Your post was a statement, it did not ask a question and so did not invite response. I don't think you can draw any conclusions on Mr. Smith's popularity from this at all.

Veral has his own Q&A forum on graybeard. Folks might be able to reach him there.

Could someone post a working URL for Greybeards? I'm thinking my ISP may have been blocked there. I asked a couple questions, and gave a couple answers, I know the powers that be at Greybeard didn't want to hear.

Just a followup to my post regarding LBT from a few days ago:
I came home from work and there was the lube I ordered. I checked my bank, the check hasn't been cashed yet. BTW, the return address was the Moyie Springs address.
I also received a nice email from Mr. Kelley; I had inquired as to why LBT was off his site.

Didn't work. I seem to be ex post facto persona non gratis e pluribus unim illegitimus non carborundum, and totally, with finality, booted. Must have been something I asked! Now, THERE is some moderation!

Yep must be your login - the link works fine. There is a way to get around that and take your automatic login off. But this will take all your saved logins and passwords out.
If you want to know how PM me.
Drew
BTW - There is a 'Sorry for your Loss by Lloyd Smale on Veral's board on GB' The moderator GB wasn't even aware of it.

Drew, thanks for the offer. I can't say as how I really miss the board all that much. I haven't cleaned out all my histories, password folders, temp files, all that stuff for quite awhile. I could most likely get in through a back door if I really wanted to.

I know that some do not like GB site maybe because he is opinionated. Nothing wrong with that I guess as he pays the bills there. I moderate several sites there and there are some good members there. I guess if you do not like GB then that certainly is a persons right. I kinda like the site myself but to each their own. :)

Veral has a post on Greybeard's to the effect that the reports of his wife's death are greatly exaggerated. He did say he almost lost her in December, but the power of prayer prevented her demise.
One thing is for sure: the power of the Internet rumor is not dead.

This is great news. Veral emailed me this morning.
At least I posted my source, so that lets me off the rumor hook...

Greybeard posted after one of our members announced a group buy and disclaimed it as an attempt to raid posters. I used to check in everyother week to see if anything was happening there but now every other month is enough to see nothing is. Gianni.

.............What, they got upset because someone announced a group buy? Sheesh! Like they were afraid that if someone was interested and checked it out and liked THIS place too, it was going to cost them money? This is home, but I DO belong to other boards.

I put up the post on Greybeards Buckshot, and rather than post all the info there I just linked to here, I can see Greybeards point, and I will abide by his wishes in the future and simply post a thread over there just like we do over here.
Pistolsmith.com on the other hand the owner is rather snotty IMHO and I will not have anything further to do with him in any way.

Well, I wasn't going to do this, but I lied to myself. For any of you who want to know something about what Graybeard's really like, let me relate this little story to you.
A couple or three years ago, I and some others who'd gotten quite close and posted on GB's forum from its very early days decided to get together. One of the guys in MS volunteered his deer camp to gather at. We all brought venison and other game and fish to eat, and we had a REALLY great time. It was, as was promised, a collective effort, and everyone pitched in to put up tents & shelters, perform the cooking and kitchen policing duties, and all the other activities attendant to a camping trip. We ate like King Solomon, played guitar, shot guns, told stories around the camp fire while we sipped an adult beverage or two, and just had a FABULOUS time. GB came. He never performed even the simplest task. He strode into the kitchen - very late, BTW, as we'd already begun cleanup ops - for our first breakfast, and on his way to his seat shouted out his "order" for breakfast. Everyone just looked at him. Then a big fellow with a big smile on his face pointed to the stove and the frying pan and said, "Well there you go right there. We've already cooked, but you can fix whatever you want."
This didn't sit too well with ol' GB. Apparently, despite a perfect description of what to expect beforehand, he apparently considered himself a celebrity whose status must have demanded being catered to. He picked the wrong crowd for that. He refused to feed himself, and decided to partake of some Hostess Twinkies he'd brought along. Nothing we cooked was pleasing to him. Nothing. Remember I said we ate like King Solomon? It was probably better than the King ever knew, in reality, but GB didn't partake of hardly anything. Said he had a funny stomach.
Well, the poor boy got the runs to boot, and he didn't clean up behind himself. I won't relate any more, but he proved himself to be a real boor, and a prima donna of the first water. About a year later, he got his panties in a wad about something, and one of our group told him how it was. GB threw him off, and then said some things online to a good friend about his wife who'd just died that would have gotten him severely beaten if he'd said them face to face with the one involved. GB threw the initial miscreant out, and the rest of us followed to another site.
GB has proven himself, on close personal observation, to be a prima donna and a megalomaniac, IMHO, and he's DARN lucky his mouth was in action only on the 'net, and NOT in person. There's a lot more to this story, and it only gets worse and more disgusting, but I'll just leave the rest lay. I think I've told enough to let all who want to know a little about him, and the rest is up to the reader to judge for himself.
I miss some guys over at GB's. There are a lot of really good guys there. I just won't go back. I can't. I'd get disgusted with myself if I did. If my buddy hadn't hit him, were we in person, I think I may well HAVE. It was THAT egregious! You just don't say some things to a greiving widow! Not ANYWHERE, not any TIME, not any WAY. But GB did. And I'll remember the type of character he showed then, and on a number of other occasions. I don't forget stuff like that.
BTW, know that he reads any of the PM's he wants to, though he denys it. No joke. Bet on it, so if you have anything to say that he might not like, make sure you use email and NOT PM's to relate anything of this nature, unless you want to be personna-non-grata-en-extremis. Just for anyone who really wants to know.
And BTW, ain't it strange how T/C was his sweetheart until .... well, y'all figure that out for yourselves. If his sponsors don't treat him "special," they don't get to sponsor him. How's THAT for being "special?"

Dennis,
Did I relate the story of having GB here at my place..not once but twice?
Well, I'll relate it here and now for the rest of crowd. Way back when i first got acquainted with him, we seemed to hit it off and I invited him up. He and his fishwife rolled in and I thought to myself...gawd help us.
They'd get up in the morning and sit on their fat asses and wait to be served breakfast and he'd drink a gallon of orange juice by himself. The ex and I were still married at the time and she worked..if you can call it that...and so, one morning he and I asked his wife to make breakfast. She had a rolling fit! Who the hell did we think she was? Wasn't her house and she didn't think it was her place to fix anything to eat. I got so goddamned angry, I got in my truck and drove to town and ate...screw'em. Then we went out to eat at a local Texas Roadhouse, what does he order up? The biggest damned steak in the house and enough trimmings to feed three people. Who got stuck with the bill? I'll give you one guess. he pulled the same stunt on me again about 3 days later and that's when I suggested his paid vacation was over...head for Alabama. I felt I brought this on myself so I pretty much kept my mouth shut.
Then, about 6 weeks later, he rolls in the driveway with his greasy wife..uninvited. I thought to myself, you lazy bastard, whoas ked you here? He says..well turkey season is on, thought I'd drive up and you'd show me where to kill one. Needless to say, food was scarce those couple of days..hehehe.and finally I told him the best thing for him to do was hit the trail and not look back. Later the asshole emailed and accused me of stealing his turkey call....that he had left in my truck. I found his worn out call and sent it to him along with a nice note (not) and told him to make a suppository out of it.
Write it down, GB is a moocher supreme. He had the gall to tell me the first time he was here that he'd invite us down but he just didn't have the room for visitors! HAR! I don't even recall his right name..that is how completely I have erased him from my memory....but I'll never forget how he acted. A two legged pig..both of them.
Now if any spineless ass wants to send this to him, go ahead. I stand by my words and convictions. The Truth will stand when the world is afire.
