Hi Folks,

A fellow gave me a couple of partial bars of solder. It's not enough to be of much concern, but I'd like to know what it is anyway. They are from the same company, but most of the company name is missing. The only part that remains is "... Lead Co." They each have what appears to be an Indian wearing traditional garb and a headdress, but I can't be certain. One is marked "111" and the other is marked "666." Anybody know what they are.

Thanks, Tom

Probably a Dutch boy, not an Indian. If that's the case it would be for the National Lead Company. 111 should be their high grade, 50/50 tin and lead. It was guaranteed to be made from new tin and lead. 666 would be a lesser grade of their 50/50 solder.
