I have 150 gr. boolits and IMR 4198, but I can't find any load data. I have it for 185 gr. boolit no problem there. So any help is welcomed

I would use the 185 gr data and work up.
Which boolit are you using?
I use the Lee C312-185-1R and it works ok. Was thinking about a 155 or 160 Lee

In the absense of specific 7.62x54R data you can use the STARTING loads listed for the. 30-'06 using the same powder and bullet. With 4198 and NOE #314299 I use 22 grs. as a starting load about 1600 fps and 30 grs. as a full charge, about 2000 fps.

check this out. http://www.gswagner.com/mosin-nagant/loads/loads.html This guy has a gun shop near me.

I was surprised to find that neither Speer nor Hogden had any suggested loads for the 7.62x54R, but knew that P.O. Ackley wouldn't let me down. He suggests 44 to 49 Grains of 4895 and a 180 Gr. bullet. So, I loaded up 5 each with 44.0, 45.0 and 45.5 grains of surplus 4895, all with 174 grain Hornady FMJ/BT 303 cal bullets and Federal Gold Metal Match primers.

Pretty much any data, from start to full throttle loads , will match .308 data. .30/06 data can be a bit warm at the top end, start data is OK, though.

Using 185 gr. load data and going up
Using .308 / 3006 load data. I would have never have thought of that, In the beginning I was told to stick to load data manuel.

Let me know if you do get 155-160 lee mold and if it works for you. I'm only using these boolits because I have bunch made up

I use a 311466 at 160 gr sized at .312 in my tighter bored MNs. I have developed a decent load with H4198. Start at 20 gr od the IMR 4198 and use a 3/4 gr Dacron filler. Work up to 28 gr also with the Dacron filler. You should find a decent load in that range depending on the bullet used.

My rifle slugs at .312-313. Boolits drop at .312-314. I size AC COWW at .314, then powder coat and water quench, and apply gas checks and size again at .314 Gives me 2 inch group at 50 yards with open sights. If I beagled the mold a little bit, it might drop a little bigger, but I like the powder coat because it fattens the nose up a little bit. If I get the Lee 155 or 160 mold, I will PC it too for my Mosin but also use it for my 300 BLK sized at .309 If I had a 314299 I think it would be an ideal mold for a mosin

If you can find data on the 303 Brit, use that. You will never get in trouble using that data.

Thanks that helps, it's basic shooting and hunting

How the grouping at 100 yards ?

2 inch groups at a hundred yards if I do my part . but I'm thinking a little more powder would tighten it up a bit I have been playing with seating depth the last few trips to the range but its not changing a whole lot so time to play with the powder some more

What are you resizing your boolits to ?

I'm using the lee .314 to size and seat the gas checks using LLA

It looks like 26 gr. of IMR 4198 -- 1-1/4 group at 50 yds.

but I'll need to adjust OAL a bit, some of the test rounds were stiff loading up. I'll size the rest of them at .314 and do 100 yds. Before I forget I used 185 gr. on this batch. I didn't have enough casing for 150 gr. boolits

take a fired case and hand seat a boolit barely. if it slips right in use a pliers to gently squeeze the neck til its slightly out of round and will allow a little resistance to the boolit. mark a line on the boolit with a sharpie from where it enters the neck to the top lube groove. chamber the dummy. pull it out and measure COAL. if the boolit sticks in the bore, you can see how far it seated by how much of the mark is rubbed off. as long as it will feed in the magazine you are good to go. if not seat deeper until it will feed
