Hello to all,
I built during the winter underhammer rifle. It is a .40 cal and the barrel is 1-16 twist 32in Green Mountain, action is Allan Foundry.
I use 50 grain Swiss fffg, this load rifle is very accurate. 5 shot groups shot 109 yard distance.
Sorry my bad English.

.40, Welcome to the forum. Your English far surpasses my Finnish. I like your rifle which is a fine shooter. What kind of shooting opportunities do you have in Finland? Is firearms ownership and shooting strongly controlled by the government?

Thank you you all,
Shooting ranges in Finland is fairly well, weapons owning is subject to license, also a powerful air guns are going to be subject to licensing.
I'm thinking about trying hunting, maybe a deer if the power is enough, law provides for power at 100 meters 2500J for deer sized animals.

Congratulations on both your rifle and your English. And, yes, we do (mostly) understand metric here. 109 yds ~ 100m.

How much does your boolit weigh? The only problem hunting with it is that sharp point. Cast it very soft and that isn't even a big problem.

Tapered bullet weighs 395 grain and the other 400 grain,I cast bullets always pure lead.

Very nice, I shoot left handed, and for thet reason, I always thought the under hammers were cool.

English is fine, but the picture of rifle and picture of the target is universal language even a martian would understand.

can you take a closer picture of the underhammer/primer system? is it a sealed ignition? cap or primer fired?

Beautiful , I too would like more picures and detail on priming and load. Your english is fine , as is your shooting and craftsmanship! Did you use the cartrige rifle barrel from Green Mountain? what bore. I shoot a 40-70 sharps and have a bullet that is close too yours , RCBS 350Gr. Been wanting a underhammer , I think yours has influenced my decision!

Primer which I use is rws 1075,barrel is a heavy profile Winchester 40-65,bore is .400 and groove .408.
Bullets are calibrated 401 size, loading is easy that size bullet,I did not use wad just a bullet and Powder.
Primer nipple area is a little dirty, picture was taken after the shooting.

Those are the best groups I've seen without the use of overpowder wads, paper patching or false muzzles , very nice. The rifle is also attractive, reminds me of a high wall Winchester a bit in profile, classic look.

Maybe this helped a good accuracy,i cleaned barrel bronze brush after each shot, powder is measured in hundredth of a gram and
bullets have been selected and weighed.
or i was a bit lucky:-).

Stellar work and a very neat design....it looks as if Winchester hired a pro to make an underhammer, thank you for sharing. AWESOME-does that word translate?

.40cal, your doing everything right and your groups speak for them selves. now you need for your own enjoyment reduce those bullets of yours by 7 thousands and paperpatch them with number 9 paper and see if it shoots as good as the cast or poss. better if that is possible. buckshot here at cast booilts can make you a reduceing die really cheap and you dont need a new mould as yours is fine, just needs to be reduced a little in size.
