Not sure if this is the right place but Midway has Remington small pistol primers for $23.33 a thousand and $5k for $116.38. I didn't wake up thinking I was going to be spending $600+ on primers today but I just did.

that's a heck of a price..
it's inline with wolf primers two years ago.
I have been seeing primers in the 34-37 [per-K] dollar range.

Wish they were any primer except SP. I have plenty of them on hand.

buy them, put them away till the next crazy and trade them for the ones you need. After the primer shortage of 2008-9 that caught me off guard I swore never again.

That's a big load. It ought to last a couple of days. And for a good price.

Tagged to show my wife that I'm not the only one who buys primers in quantities larger than 1k.

I was ready to jump on this sale when the wife told me that the CC was at max... I told her that I had just paid it off a few months ago. She filled it again playing online games! grrrr, now I have to wait until I can pay it down to use it..

If she filled it with online game playing, either you have an extremely small limit on that card or your wife has a serious game addiction.

Perfect, I just realized today that I am getting low on SP primers.

Looks like it is time to try Remington, hope they are as good as the Winchesters I always use.

Hitech has had CCI sm pistol primers for $135 for 5 K for the last 6 months. Off brand primers were less.

She has a problem with gambling and gaming.... I know it, she knows it but I usually keep better track of her card use [smilie=b: she racked up almost 5000 in the few months but alot I guess was buying things online for our new grandson... Oh well, I will wait to pay it off and then see how things go

I told my wife that investing in primers is better than investing in gold. She laughed.

It appears that a small degree of sanity might be returning to the components market. But just to balance the ledger, I had a PM I read today in which my correspondent told of prices at $80 for 1# of Unique in his locale (central VA). Yeah, I might have been born at night--but it wasn't LAST NIGHT. That vendor can keep his propellant, or serve it gravy-covered for all I care.
