I hope to have my Husky 9.3x62 back from the smith in time for summer load development. I have 280 grain gc boolits and blown out .30-06 brass. Do I need factory crimp? It's a pretty lively round, and I don't want them slipping into the case.
I was thinking of ordering one from lee as it's not a standard item. Thoughts?

To crimp or not:
* Yes, if magazine fed
* Yes, if shooting smokeless so bullet doesn't drop back into the case
* No, if shooting black powder in a single shot
* And No, if one is breech seating their reloads [smilie=1:

Depends on recoil and neck tension. Problems w/o a crimp usually comes from 2 instances with a bolt gun. Feeding (most often from the left side of a Mauser action with 4+ cartridges in the magazine) can cause the bullet to shove back into the case from hitting feed ramp or bullet catching on the side of the mouth of the chamber. Also the bullets in the cartridges still in the magazine can be beat back into the case from recoil.

Your seating die won't give a roll crimp?
