Any opinions out there on this pot. Holds 20 lbs, ladle pour only. Good, bad, or otherwise. Thanks for the input.

It's my choice. All you need at a very reasonable price.

The Lee 20 lb. pot is a great pot for the money . I'm a ladle caster and find the Lee 20 lb. pot meets / or exceeds all my casting needs.

I pre-heat in a 10 lb. Lee " Drip-A-Matic " that is elevated above the 20 lb. pot and let gravity take the preheated molten alloy down a piece of 90 degree angled sheet metal to the 20 lb. pot. This keeps my metal in the 20 lb. pot a constant temp because I never drop ingots into the 20 lb. pot.

This is basically a 30 pound pot system......Best use for a
Lee " Drip-A-Matic " that I know of.

Works Great !

After a mere 20 years of hard-to-abusive service, I finally burned out my Lee 10-lb pot with temperature control and went to a 20-lb Magnum Melter. I ladle cast only, so I wasn't interested in the bottom pour feature, but wanted the temperature control and a larger quantity of lead to work with. It's been a very satisfactory product in every way for the 2-1/2 years I've had it so far. I look forward to another 18 years of casting with it.

I don't know if you plan on casting with a 4 or larger cavity mould but if you do look into getting a bottom pour ladle from Bill Furguson the Antimony Man. Tell him what you will be doing with it and he will size it up for you in both the volume and handle length. Bill is a great guy to work with.
