Well went out today to try my hand at it,and think i did pretty well for a newbie ,once i got to going it just kept getting easier ,the only problem i had was my lee mold ,the screw that hold the sprue plate stripped and fell into the pot ,so i guess i'm going to contact lee and see what i can get done, the main thing i cast for is the 45 acp ,think i'm going to see if i can find a lyman mold, also i wanted to say thanks to most of you on this forum for the help ,just by reading your posts has helped me get addicted to this :mrgreen:http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa304/dragonfire_bucket/Picture414.jpgBTW- if any one has a lyman 2660374 for sale please contact me.

If Lee doesn't take care of you, I would tap to the next size and then cross drill and tap the block for a locking bolt.

Ditto on the recommendation to cross drill & tap for a set screw.

Also, be sure to lube that mold at the sprew plate pivot & locating pins. Use something good on the pivot. I gauged up my first brand new Lyman mold from insufficient pivot lube the second time I used it. Ouch!

I feel for ya man. I got started a month ago, and now I have 7000 bullets in my basement. Addicting as hell to be sure! But then again, just the thing for those cold winter days...

Well like the guys said, you're hooked now. Lead is worse than nicotine. Hope you get that mold worked out. I like the idea of drilling a locking bolt hole, kinda like the RCBS molds have. May try that on my Lee's.

Welcome to the wide world of casting.
