I have lee dies and have done the seating/crime step. I notice that the taper crimp is either slight or none. Any ideas? I tend to run them through a lee fcd because of this problem.

a slight taper is all you need.
it's just there to keep the boolit from moving.
just make the flair go away and iron the case down against the boolit.
the round headspaces on the case mouth, if you crimp it down it headspaces crooked on the ejector.

thats part of the problem, Ive tried it and the boolits still move thats why i switched to the fcd

To the best of my knowledge, Lee seating dies don't 'taper crimp'; they're bored to allow a roll crimp...if such is necessary...but, otherwise, the 'neck' of the die is straight-walled. To obtain a true 'taper crimp' takes a separate operation using an internally tapered die.
