Is there any advantage for 1 over the other? Going to be used mainly in a P95 and Contender carbine. Also to those that have the .40 175 TC mold how do you like it? thanks Todd/3leg

Yes, I have all 3 of these boolits. The 125fp is better used in 38/357 because in 9mm it has to be seated very deeply in the case. It can be done and I have and it does work but you are asking for advantage/disadvantage. the 120TC is better in a 9mm as it doesn't have a crimp groove, again, it will work in both but better suited for 9mm. I like the .40 175TC and use it in 40 and 400 corbon. I also have the 45 caliber version of this boolit (the 120, 175 and 230 are essentially the same boolit just scaled up) and they seem to feed very well in everything I've tried them in.

I use a LEE .401 175 TC in my G23 and G27. Mine is a the tumble lube design though. Works very well for me over Unique in those guns.

What caliber is the Contender? The Lee 356-120-TC might not engage the rifling or be a bit undersized in a .357 Contender.
Did you slug the barrels of any of these?

I really like my Lee 125 gr. RNFP mold/bullets. I shoot it in my 9mms, .38 Specials, ,and 357 Magnums, just slightly different sizing...

The 120 TC is a fantastic 9mm mold. It just works in everything.

I have been using the 125fp for a long time in 9 and 38. It doesnt work in every barrel (needs a forgiving throat) but my px4 loves em and doesnt have to be seated too deep. I recently got the 120tc and it seems more forgiving but not enough testing to determine which is more accurate in my guns. The 175tc works good, especially powder coated. Although, I havent compared anything else.

It will be a MGM barrel with the correct .355 diameter.

I use the 125FP with great success in both 9mm and 38 special. Sized .358.

101354I have the 120 TC and also use it in a P95. I set the oal at 1.055 with 3.7 grains of pb powder. I could set it longer for the P95, but I also shoot it in a Sig P250 and it has a short chamber. Any longer and it starts to touch in the Sig. Gets sized to 358 for both guns. Its my first and only mold, so my sample size is limited to say the least. But the TC works, so I ain't messing with it. Really duplicates the overall size and shape of the Hornady 124gr XTP hollow point ammo that I like.

I have both the 356-120-TC and the 401-175-TC in 6 cavity molds and love 'em. They feed perfectly in my M&P pistols and I load them as-cast without resizing them anymore. The 6 cavity mold produces a lot of good bullets in very little time.

Although both are traditional lube grooved, I tumble lube them in 45/45/10 in a 1 gallon Ziplock bag in quantities of about 500 at a time and spread them out on a wax paper lined low cut cardboard box. The next morning they are boxed up and ready to load.

I load them to where the edge of the cone meets the case mouth. If seated more than about 1/16" higher than that, they tend to get caught in the throat and the slide would not close completely. I use the crimp to just bring the flare back to vertical and the cartridges plunk test perfectly. The COL is about 1.10" rather than the typical 1.135", but I only load to mid range charges anyway (5.0g Unique for 40, 4.2g Unique for 9mm) so I don't worry about excessive pressures from a smaller case volume.

I also have a T/C carbine in the 9mm with an 18" barrel. It is my favorite plinker and coyote rifle out to 100 yards using that Lee 125 RNFP and 4.6 gr of Unique (1250 fps at the muzzle). That is a moderate load but any hotter and I would get a lot of vertical stringing unless I cooled the barrel after every couple shots.

Lee 356-120-TC is a superb 9mm boolit in the conventional lube
form, sized .357 or .358 and lubed with NRA 50-50 or LBT soft
blue.

120TC is what I prefer and use. Lube & sized to .3575" through a Star using Tac#1 this boolit is used through all of my 9's and Ruger 357/9mm combi pistols. Powder of choice is 4.2gn HP38. << USE AT OWN RISK.

I also use the 175TC in my 40S&W pistols. Lubed & sized to .401" works well in my 40's. The Lee six-banger molds are hard to beat for production capacity and price.

I prefer the 120 TC over the 125 FP in 9mm. I was disappointed in my attempt to find a one-size-fits-all mold for all my 38/357/9mm loading.

As mentioned, you have to seat the FP design deeply to avoid problems with tight throats. Any OAL over 1.050 and you are asking for trouble. I have 5 9mm Pistols and while my M-39 shoots just about anything, the FP gives occasional failures to fully seat in my Sig P-6, and doesn't run at all well in my Luger. The 125 grain FP is better suited for 38/357 Revolvers in my experience, more accurate there than the 120 TC.

I would strongly recommend getting a 6 cavity mold(s) and a bottom pour pot. I can't imagine casting handgun bullets 2 at a time. I spent over 3 hours casting rifle boolits a couple of Sunday afternoons ago and only wound up with 548 C309-113-F and 166 c309-200-R. In around 2 hours I would have made 1000 pistol boolits with my 6 bangers. At least I got to listen to 2 NASCAR races in Martinsville while casting. :)

Lee 120 TC conventional for 9mm (great results) and 125 FP conventional for 38/357 use (great results). The 125 FP has too much full diameter band, need to be deep seated in all my 9's and 38 Supers.
