I used to have a #1 458 and shot the ballistic cast 540wfngc out of it. Its been so long ago that i dont remember the load but i know it was pushing it at 1900 fps and it hit like a ton of bricks. I had the #1 and my guide gun at camp one day and my brother in law was laughing as he said that you could hear that bullet slap the ground behind the target and he said he swore he could feel it in the ground. :) Like i said i cant remember the load but if im not mistaken it was a compressed load of benchmark.

Sixgun

I have a Ruger77, and at 11Lbs, I reworked the stock, did my modifications and put it back together, it has no more recoil than my 30-06. The hammer boolits I got from Bullshop at 545 grs with the HP, shot wonderful out of my rifle with only 48.5 grs of 4198. I know other guys are going to say it ain't a full power load, but it is so accurate, that it is scary. Some day I hope to own one of these moulds, and I will never have to buy cast boolits again, just cast my own any time I want and enjoy every chance I get.

Thanks:castmine::Fire:

I can see why sixgun junkys memory is bad if he shot very many 545 grain bullets at 1900 fps from his 458.Bob B

I loaded some at 2200 FPS...Once!!!!! 40 rounds in a Number 1....with a sissy pad.

It was an accurate load and not max for a jacketed bullet but was more than I needed so I didn't repeat the experiment. It felt so good when I was through that batch of ammo./beagle
