Hello all,
For those of you who have this mold I was curious as to the diameter of the bore-ride section your mold drops.
Thanks for your help,
Rick

The Lee molds vary.

My HM2 six-cavity drops bullets in COWW to the drawing.

Do you have a micrometer? Meet me someplace in Brentwood/Nastyville and I will give you some samples to measure/shoot. Or maybe you would like to borrow the mold for your exact alloy? PM me.

Thanks for that information. From the picture I couldn't tell and it appeared to be a parallel section. That being the case could you, or someone with some, give me the diameter just in front of the front driving band and the approximate diameter it tapers to where the ogive breaks?
Thanks for the information and help,
Rick

nose 0.3043/0.3052", I have ran 2 lots of C312-155-2R (1,020 boolits) on 3/29 & 3/31. Alloy was 12# COWW + 1.5# foundry type. Diameter of bands averaged 0.3115" and weight averaged 154.7 grains. Mold was a Lee DC new one, first time ran. I intend to try these in a DPMS 300 blackout upper when it comes off B/O and gets delivered?

Jeff,
Thank you for your detailed information. I found a drawing of the HM2 mold which is supposed to be a copy. I actually ordered the Lee mold on Monday. It was delivered yesterday morning while I happened to have a hot pot going. I cast about 100 of them and am anxious to try them in my short-throated (probably normal throated) 30-06.
Thanks for your help,
Rick

I have not tried these Lee 155 gr. (yet) in 30-06 yet but I have had excellent results with Lyman 311299, 200 gr GC, seated just touching, 2400/18.0 in 30-06/Remington 700 BDL; 1,541 FPS and shoots 3/4" group at 100 yards. YMMV? I actually tried Lyman 311291 & 311365 in the same rifle but they both shot 2-3" groups? I had sized all groups at 0.309", GC, Blue Angel lube. I have groups sized at 0.310 & 0.311" but have not got to try those yet.
