Hello fellow members. I have been casting about 20 years. Used to post at some of the old defunct sites under the handle sticky. Main interest is cast boolits in military bolt actions hence my handle cast1903. Bought some of the group buy molds years ago. Can any of you remember the mould a few years back it was around 150 grain 30 cal tumble lube plain base and give me more details? I am wanting to buy one or swap for one when I get more info. Wanting to experiment with a 30 cal plain base...thanks cast1903

Can't help with the mold question, I don't shoot that much smallbore.

Give us results when you find good shooting cast boolits that work in your military relics. Love the old Bolt action military rifles!!

I have had real good luck shooting cast bullets in mil surplus rifles. 1903's have been the best. Also M48's have shown real good results. I have done extensive testing with IMR SR7625 and can't beat it. It is the first powder I go for when working up a new load. I gas check and push bullets from 1500 - 1700 fps. Wanting to experiment with a plain base slowing the velocity down and see what accuracy potential is.

I've got that boolit. It's a Fat Thirty with plain base and Lee tumble lube microbands, a Loverin style with flat nose. Mine cast (in about 1/2 wheelweights and 1/2 soft scrap) to .315" and 165 grains. Nice plinker. It can be sized down to .311" for the plain .30s. Mine's not for sale, I like it!

Buckshot good to hear from ya. Bought a real big 8mm mould from ya years ago. Not really wanting to get a buy together myself. I guess I should'nt have opened up my mouth if I wasn't wanting to honcho up and run it. Anyway may know some intersted people besides myself if there is every another 150 plain base buy.
