Does anyone besides me watch the reality show Diggers, on The Natl Geo channel? I like to see them dig up old artifacts but the screaming and gyrations they go thru are stupid. They act like the finding of an old horse shoe is reason for a fireworks display. Last night they were digging in the hills above Deadwood, S.D. and George found an old detective badge and he acted as though it was no more interesting than an old nail. No one can be that ignorant.

Yeah, they can be and are that ignorant. Thing that realy gets me is everything they find is " this could have been George Washingtons or this was probably owned by wyatt earp", also, they try to monetize everything they find. MORONS!

I have to agree. I watched about half of one show, that was enough for me. The only thing that ever made me jump, was a yellow jackets nest.

I don't care how they act, I watch it for the end result of their effort's, They are doing better than I am.

They find way too much "Good Stuff' in my opinion. Maybe most of it has been planted?

+1 Rick...they should have a show where all they find is nails and pop tops..oh...and bottle caps...

I have seen bits of it, but would rather watch anything else.

I tried to watch the show but their stupid terminology just ruined it for me. Juice and nectar and roundness. Great subject matter bit it's just ruined by two dorks on crack.

I am glad I machine gunned my TV 25 years ago. Finished it off with a 20 ga.

Theres no telling how much run time has been edited out. Kinda like the old bass fishing shows.....some of it has got to be planted or staged somehow. I've never seen the show. One of the members of THR (Caribou) is on the show Below Zero. I dont get Nat Geo or else I'd watch some of the newer genre of "reality tv". About the only show I've watched lately was "Alaska: The Last Frontier" which documented the life of the Kilcher clan and I would watch "Yukon Men". Other then that, I'd be taking care of the kids or down fiddling with gun stuff.

There is nothing real about reality TV.

It's pretty lame no doubts, but they do follow ethics, most if not all their finds are turned over to the property owner or at lest they offer to split. I'll bet a dollar to a do-nut they even fill in the holes they dig, and carry out all the trash finds.

I have swung a detector for going on 15 years, and have too often encountered cratered areas, trash items left next to the craters, and many NO METAL DETECTORS ALLOWED and NO TRESSPASSING signs resulting from such unethical diggers. !

If you wanted to see said idiots in action it was the bellowing BOOOM BABY Rick Savage and his cancelled show that ran only 2, 6 episode seasons.

I like the concept of the program but all the over the top celebrating for every item found has turned me off !

Tried to watch as I liked the premise.
As reality shows typically go, the execution sucked, bad

I metal detected for close to 20 years and figured the show would be worth watching. But between the antics and the nicknames of finds, I stopped after 2 episodes. Never looked back.

I watched about 20 minutes of one show! At least Duck Dynasty is funny. I find the inserted drama in the "reality" shows really detracts from anything interesting they have!

Amen to that. The fastest I ever ran was to try and stay out in front of an angry swarm. Mom says it's the closest she ever came to streaking.

Got a FLASH for most folks here, its TV AKA entertainment.

modern day fishing show....but they are not as dumb as you think...just trying to make digging holes interesting. As a history nut I enjoy the findsjust not the drama.

Because of their status these guys get permission to hunt some awesome spots. They are "dramatic" for sure, but it is TV, and they do it for the entertainment factor. I enjoy watching them find things interesting to me, but I don't care for the tree busting, mud diving and all that. I would like to hunt some of the spots they get to hunt.

+1 Anyone with common sense can see it's all fake.

I think the problem is, that common sense, is so rare today. It's made by, and for, folks that are totally lacking.

The subject matter is interesting enough but they're way over the top on the antics. I don't find that part of it entertaining. I spend by day with about 900 12 - 14 yr olds and they exhibit less drama than those two!
