Try a puller. No need to buy a new die.

Do a search on your favorite shooting supplier's website for a "stuck case remover." Here's a link to one that is available from Midsouth - http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000449340

What are you using for lube?

Lee lube.I lubed the shell pretty good but it still stuck. Do you run it up all the way or just til the primer falls out.
I did 9's and 40's ran those up all the way with no problem. I hear rifle shells are a bit harder to do

Can't you pull the die apart and drive the brass out from the top with a punch?

I've taken the die apart and beat the case out with a screwdriver and a hammer.

Ive had this problem being a new b as well. I jus pulled the die apart flipped it upside down on my press found a 1/4 inch bolt long enough and ran it up n pushed the case out with the ram. Works 9/10 times for me. Im using lee dies so im not to sure if itll work with rcbs dies

This RCBS die seems like it doesn't come apart but it has to I can get the de capping pin unscrewed to where it'll wobble but can't get it to pull out

The expander ball is screwed onto that decapper pin i think n thats why it wont come out the top end. Try running the pin all the way down through the flash hole and holding it while you unscrew it from the top. Then use something to delicately push the brass out through the top with the decap pin still in, being mindful of the pin(not crushing it). I might have another trick or two if that dosent work or its a dumb idea. Again im not sure of rcbs dies anatomy

From here on out, get yourself a small tub of bag balm in the green can.... I used to get stuck cases in 308 and 223 all the time, but haven't had a single one after changing to bag balm, and its good for your hands... Just tap your finger into it a tiny bit and rub the case.. It also does a good job of removing gunk from the case if you didn't tumble it... And one dab on the finger will last for many cases before needing to re dab..... You wont be sorry sir... Get some...

Well I did get the shell out but the decapping pin is broke so I'll need to buy just that if they sell just the pin if not I'll have to save some money and buy another 308 die. Thanks everyone for you help and input. You are a great bunch and honored to be part of this group

I guess I have been fortunate. Been reloading rifle ammo since 1981 and never had a stuck shell. I do have two shell pullers, similar to the RCBS ones, that I made when I worked in a machine shop years ago, just in case.

I used a dremel to cut off the base of the shell after I removed the decapper. Just wear glasses for the flying brass shavings.

How is your shell holder.I had a problem with a 45/70 case caused by worn shell holder.Get a little lube inside case mouth also, probly already been said.Part of the fun solving problems.

If it is the older style RCBS dies, you are kinda in a pickle and just call RCBS and send it back. They will remove it and polish it up.

If it is the newer style that you can remove the guts from the top, unscrew and drive the brass out.

The problem with cutting the base off is still the removal of the remains of the case from the die.

Good luck.

Sometimes, if it's not stuck to bad, you can put it in the freezer over night and it will pop out with a little push.

Drill out the primer pocket, tap it with a 1/4 tap, put a socket over the shell end with the business end of the socket supported by the die, put a washer over the square drive end of the socket, thread in a bolt until it contacts the washer and tighten until the case come out.
