Well, I did it again. Third year running (so to speak). Today was the City to Surf, the 14km (8.7 mile) run. Cool morning with a nasty, cool head wind in places. I chopped the run out in 1:09:58 so about the same as last year. I pushed a bit harder than I usually run at and feeling it now. It was lovely to have my girls at the finish line to me come in all hot and tired.
Out of interest, when I run I wear a heart rate monitor. It's quite a good gauge of pace and keep time. I ran on average at 171 BPM with a maximum of 179 BPM. Usually I run in the high 160's. I suspect the head wind help keep the revs up.

Remember the old song "a little bit older and a little more in debt."

You ARE in that group now.:kidding:

Watch out for next year.

I admire your stamina, both my knees are shot and running is out.

Getting old as well, but there will always be another race to run just around the bend on the calendar!

Good Job Jeff!

I used to do the Hood To Coast Run in Oregon.Starts at MT Hood Ski Resort @ 9000ft and ends at the ocean. Its a relay race and you run 6 or so miles three times every 6 hours or so.Sleep doesn't happen and cramps do! That was before i got crunched in an auto accident and i was in my 30's.Now i am near 50 run about 15-20 miles a week and s---l----o----w.

Sounds like a fun run you had.

MEMORIES

I now find it hard to believe that at one time I hiked down to phantom ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and ate P B & J sandwiches washed down with fresh running water then hiked back to the top all in one 16 hour day.

Enjoy it while you can and cherish the memories for many years to come.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.
I only run when chased.
The wifey and I do hike quite a bit though. Those long hills are starting to annoy me bit though......
