I am currently on shore duty awaiting orders to a submarine. It seems that there is a good likelihood I may have to move to groton connecticut. I will probably have to sell 4 guns.... 2 ar's, beretta 92, and a newly acquired smith 6904. Since I am in military I will probably have to spend some time in base housing, precluding me from taking part in any type of (illegal?) 2a protesting that involves keeping certain weapons. Also I will have to get rid of my sweet adorable pitbul, and one other dog, since I have 4. I hope I can get orders here in norfolk, not its not looking too good. what I am trying to get at is, will I need to get any kind of liscense for the guns I currently have besides 10+ round "assault weapons" specifically remmy 700, mossy 500, and some revolvers? I may pick up a lever 44 or 357, along with 1911 if I have to sell some current toys.

Don't and won't live in Conn.
Do you have any options on the guns in lieu of selling them. Any friends you trust to hold them until you get to live in America again? Did that when I put my house on the market, did not want strangers tempted. You would have a reason to visit.

I have parents that I would not rather leave them with... whole nother story. I would not feel outgunned against a home intruder or whatever else with my gp100 or possibly a 1911

Greetings
When I was in the Army (71-74) numerous troopers had personal weapons locked in the armory. It that a possibility for you ?

Navy and Marine bases had the same policy in the 80s for any weapons owned by people who lived in the barracks. Worth looking into.

I appreciate the advice but I don't have any friends I would trust a few thousand dollars worth of guns to... I hate to get rid of the ar rifles though.... I bought one for me and one for my son (1.5 years old)

Rent a storage unit for awhile? Store everything there with insurance on it?

Keep the uppers and put the lower receivers somewhere in a bank deposit box. If you knew someone who could pull the barrels off the AR's, you could almost put the entire gun in a large safety deposit box. Carry the disassembled guns in the bank in a briefcase or something like that.

Probably the best idea yet. Set up electronic payments, you're good to go.

Since the glock 17 is kind of a version of the glock 18(could have the number wrong) would it be illegal to put a threaded barrel on it in ct?
