Will be watching this thread with interest.

I'm looking at a 4 cavity Saeco mold with interest. Something of 180 - 200gr

Gas checked of course.

Will likely just start with Wheel Weights, cold water quenched as they fall from the mold.

Need more info then what is presented. Like what it's intended purpose is going to be. I could list molds for gallery loads up to full power work. It also helps to list what powders you have, or can get. This is an extremely broad subject that's been covered many times here.

First outing with my new casts Lee 309-113-F, 309-170-F, 309-200-R water dropped hodgepodge mix of WW and reclaimed lead shot. All GC'ed with Hornady GC's. Some were pan lubed, some were dip lubed in 50/50 Beeswax/vaseline. Shot @ 50 yards. Not great, but a good start, none of the bullets went sideways and one pass with a bore snake left the barrel mirror clean.

Accurate 31-165B or C (PCd) gets me near MOA @ 100, ~1600-2400 fps in 308.

I'd use the NOE 311-180 which is an excellent design, especially for short necks. In your short barreled Ruger you might try H4895 starting at 28 gr and work up to 33 gr using a 1/2 - 3/4 gr Dacron filler. A very good and accurate load in the 1850 - 1950 fps with AC'd bullets of COWWs +2% tin should be easy to find. If you want to push it then WQ the bullets and use AA4350, RL19, H4831SC or RL22.

BTW; I am using that bullet in my own .308W scout based on the FR8. It also has a 10" twist barrel.

This mold is available right now, costs only $20, and makes very accurate bullets.
