Can you identify the case on the left?

They're all 300 Win mags. The center one and left one were fired in a 300Weatherby. So be careful!
thay taken at hunter sight in the shooter just ask the gun store clerk for 300 mags and thats what he got 300 mags

More importantly, how did they group?

That's probably not much more drastic than the original way of making .300 Weatherby cases by fireforming .300 H&H in a .300 Weatherby chamber. Even if the shoulder area or neck ruptured, gas sealing's mostly done by the head of the case, which would be properly headspaced by the belt. I don't think this put anyone at risk.

Years ago (1967) I saved enough to buy a 300 Weatherby. The factory ammunition was expensive but I had easy access to several boxes of 300 H&H. I used them in the Weatherby and was surprised at the good groups I got. I still have some of those brass and still reload it but soon the rifle will pass to my son so I am now in the process of retiring that brass because it has a lesser case voulme than the factory Weatherby cases and I will eliminate any chance of an inadvertant overload.
