I have a concrete mixer; it seems I should know this guy:

Local Louisville(KY) gun shop dealer/distributor used a concrete mixer back in 60's to clean brass he obtained from Ft. Knox ranges.
Scooped the brass in with some sand and let 'er rip.
After very short run, brass was dumped out and sifted through screen wire and sand recycled with another load of brass.
I still have some brass off some tank 30's somehwere at my house in Louisville.
Oh for the good ole days!

An old friend, when he owned and ran his cast bullet and "recycled ammunition" (reloads in bulk quantities for law enforcement training/practice) business, used 55-gallon drums for cleaning brass. Drums were loaded with brass/media and set horizontally on belt-driven rollers.

That's how I've been tumbling my brass for years. Bought one of those buzzy things this year, holds a couple cups of brass maybe, and it's pathetic. Back to the real man's brass tumbler. That site is amusing.
