hello to all,

I'd need to know your opinion for precision shooting with speeds ranging from 1000 to 1050 feet per second which of the two mould allows for greater accuracy.

-TL309-230-5R for 30 Cal Rifle (300 AAC Blackout) 230 Grain
or
-C309-200-1R for 30 Caliber (309 Diameter) 200 Grain

the weapon used is Remington 700 police 1:12 twist and 26" barrell.

thanks to all
Salvo

I don't think your rifle will stabilize the 230 grain boolit at subsonic velocities. That boolit generally requires a 1:7 twist.

I don't know for sure, but my best guess would be the 200gr. I think Petroid is right. Matter of fact, I'd guess that you'd do better with Lee's 155gr than with either of the other two because there's less unsupported nose wobbling off down the barrel ahead of the driving bands.

A Lee mold for accuracy - is that like an oxymoron?

The Lee 200 shoots well out of one of my 1:12 twists at 1,500 ish. I have tried 247 gr in a 1:12 twist; pumpkin sized groups at 75 yds with some key- holing. (from 1,500 up to 2,450 fps) Same 247 gr does fine in a 1:10 twist. (1,300 to 2,350 fps)

Get the 200gr. And Yes Lee does have a few that work really well. I shoot the 200 gr into less than an inch at 2000 fps. Make sure to measure the nose when you get it. 0.300" will work but 0.300+ is better.

I have had success in my mosin nagant with the Lee C312-185-1R. It should size down to .309 without a problem and if you want to shoot cast from an enfield or a mosin you've already got a mold

No it is not.

+1 Lee makes very good molds.

+1 Lee makes very good molds.

The deer, hogs and antelopes I have taken all agree. The shooter determines accuracy, not the mold.

Lee moulds are CNC Lathe bored. This type cutting will provide the most concentric bullet if mould halves align correctly.

Cherry cut moulds are more prone to being non concentric, because of cutter getting dull.

Everything I have read and seen is that the 170gr boolit from lee is the most accurate. I, myself shoot the 150 gr 309 and am happy with it. Just one man's opinion
