A week or ago I got what I thought was a fair deal on a Stoeger 12 Ga double, $240. Had my favorite gunshop send an FFL for it. They have a 20 Ga, same model that's been on the shelf for almost a year. I had thoughts of trying to talk them into trading it to me for the 12 ga. Went in there today and they had a 12 ga setting there too. Seems another of their customers found it at a garage sale! I don't know what he paid for it $50 or maybe a $100, but he sold it to them for $200. Foiled my trading plan and makes me feel foolish for paying $240 for my 12 ga. If I weren't so lazy I'd get off my a$$ and check out the garage sales on Fridays. But everytime I do, I go week after week wiuthout even seeing a gun and the ones I do see are junk with outrageous prices. Some of us are just luckier than others....

Think that's bad? I got a call yesterday from my neighbor's son in Albuquerque. He was looking at a gun that the seller wanted $300 for, and he wanted me to look it up in the Blue Book.

He started describing it: Walther PP, 9x18mm, Says "Waffen SS," and has the German eagle. He didn't know what the eagle looked like so I described it to him. Overall, the gun looked almost new, but the holster was pretty ragged.

I told him to give the guy his asking price and get out of there as quick as he could.

Scrounger--Yea I got another cycle or two. Got my atv and it has slow leaks. Thought about some new 6 ply tires maybe. I have garage sale cycle. I don't go looking for them as I use to do,but seems my vehicle always stops when I see one. It's like fishing, you don't always catch them, but hang in there and you might get the big one. I use to go to a garage sale with a guy that always passed by bargains. I came right behind him and found all kinds of good stuff he missed.

I started getting flats on mine; bought a tire plugging kit and a bottle of Slime. Really helped. The tire plugs are neat, you don't have to take the tire off the ATV. Also got a little air pump that plugs into the accessory (cigarette lighter) plug to inflate the tire. Can you use one of those on yours? Your Email about using oil squeezed from black cats in your ATV sounds a little far-fetched to me. I think you're full of it... [smilie=l:

If you had claimed to lubricate only with lanolin, we wouldn't have any trouble believing that...
