Hi,
Well...after downloading an application I needed in Windows and finding there were 4 other things I did not want (or told about) included. Got mad and went totally with Ubuntu 12.04! I have to say my Internet surfing is a lot better,my computer is fast again and I'm seeing no downside really yet! If I have a problem I just Google and there is usually an answer brought up off of one of the Ubuntu forums!

Should of done this years ago!

I ditched windows ages ago and have been running Linux mint for the last 5 or 6 years on every computer we own. Never had any problems with Linux and it great not having to worry about viruses trogens and malware. Also interacts with our android phones and tablets better than windoze due to the fact that android is just another flavor of Linux anyway.

I run dual boot systems. Linux and Windows. I still have 1 or 2 games that required windows to run. I am a linux mint fan which is a revamped ubuntu.

I've been meaning to learn about Linux for years, found this thread and another one,
you guys got me to install Ubuntu. Dual-boot with XP, working fine so far.
Right away it connected to my network. I sucked in pics from my phone,
read my email, figured how to make text files, shuffle things around, etc.
'Course I spent a few hours on it today but none of it was hard to do.

Main problem is I use Microsoft Streets & Trips to make maps for work,
need to find software for that but I can boot up XP until it becomes unusable.

Thanks again, Castboolits to the rescue!
