Hi All,

I am in the process of rebarreling a Win 94AE to 375W. I would like to hear what boolits folks are shooting in their 375Win leverguns. Gun will be used for whitetail deer hunting inside 150 yards.

thanks

Tom

I shoot a a few different ones. This one, http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=38-220B-D.png I was able to take a deer with this past season, did a wonderful job out of my Marlin. I also shoot a LBT 220 gr. LFN in my Ruger No.3, Very accurate also. You could also go with the NOE 235 gr., http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/product_info.php?cPath=52&products_id=349&osCsid=2sgp8ms4jga0go1njd3huq99h6 I havent used this one hunting yet, but its very accurate in my contender chambered in a wildcat 445 super mag necked to 375.

Lyman 375449. Awesome traditional .375 boolit.

Greetings
For plinking and up to "BP power" loads similar to the old 38-55 I use a 37583 pushed along at 1100-1200 FPS cast of range scrap or 25%WW plus scrap. This is a fine bunny or 100 yards coydog load. Unique gets my use here.
For medium power I use the 375248 another PB. 50-50 works fine up to 1400 fps. This boolit at 1400 will do in any corn cruncher out there... but is slow enough out to 150 yds that you need to figure trajectory. WW in same mold can be pushed to 1550. Better trajectory but still a bit low at 150 yards. I think with a PG gas check this boolit would be my favorite. Even with just a cereal box wad the base will sustain more pressure. 1680 is my most used powder under this bullet. You cabn use this boolit at very slow velocity also with good results. Unique is my favorite for under 1200 fps.
The4 375449 is a GC and you can push it fast. WW is my choice here and my two barrels will do 1800 fps. 1750 fps is a shade more accurate. 4198 and 1680 work well. WDWW will go faster but I do not need it. If I need more power I get out a bigger thumper.
So in the end I shoot my 375's like 38-55's.
The nice thing about the 375 Win twist is you can shoot heavy long boolits slower with VG accuracy. Think about a 325 grainer chugging along at 1250 FPS and thumping a pip under 50 yards. Cast of 25%WW and range scrap it tears a nice hole about 4-5 inches above the belly line where the front legs seem to enter the skin. Lots of mass to push through completly and lots of soft lead to tear a hole a torpedoe would be expected to accomplish.
So Yea I like the 375 Win barrels. They have the right diameter for most any mold and work nicely as a long missle silo.

I also treat my 375 Win as a 38-55, since you're using the standard 94 receiver I think that would be a good practice for you as well, bikerbeans. The full speed 375's aren't much fun to shoot and are faster than I want to push a boolit anyway.

Thanks all for the responses. I don't plan to push on the 375W very hard, I have a 1895ss and a 444s if I want to burn more powder. This gun is going to be a backup deer rifle for me and hopefully my wife's goto gun if I can get her to hunt. I have a 100 or so of the 375449 that another member cast for me to try in my 375 H&H. I haven't gotten around to loading them for the BIG 375 so I will now load them for the 375W.

With a 375 H&H you can really make a 375449 cook along. With that big ol case some 4831 underneath will get a good shove down the barrel far more than a little 375 case will do.
