I have an old box of Lyman .30 cal gas checks, part no. 2827267 which is the same part no. on their web site today. Does this mean they are crimp on type or could they be the slip on type that came off in flight?

Last I know of that the Lyman GC are slip on you can is super glue them on.That is what I do.I still have some of those.I use them also and then will use Hornady and Gator gas checks.

Look at them you can see their thicker on the rim just like the picture shows.

If they are brass then 'split on'. If they are copper then 'crimp on'.

I have some of the old brass checks in .22 cal and they shoot fine without any form of bonding.
