Seeking security advice

I saw today that Home Depot was selling lead free solder for $28 a pound. With that in mind I was thinking maybe I should take some silver out of my safe and replace it with some of my solder. What do you think. Weighs fifteen LBS in case you are wondering.

I wonder what all of the pewter I collect is worth by the pound. I picked up a couple of tankards for 5$ at the goodwill the other day to melt down until I saw how much they were selling for on ebay. People were asking 70$ a piece for the same ones I was going to melt down. Odds and ends I find there get smelted, and I don't pay more than 7$ a pound for it most of the time.
