Powder choice vs Gun

Im looking at using unique or 2400 for both my m1 garand and mosin nagant as those powders i can get anytime. Between the two which would be more useful for plinker loads to full loads. I was thinking about trying 2400. Can you suggest a load grain that will cycle the garand with a 180gn boolit?

I'm pretty sure Unique will not provide sufficient port pressure to cycle the M1.

#2400 is not going to cycle a Garand either. RL7 might, but RL15, Varget, 4064 or 4895 will for sure.

If only for plinker loads, and cycling is not important, you will get more loads per pound with Unique and it can be used in a lot of different cartridges and in shotguns too.
