Hey guys, I'm looking for a recipe for a 102gr. cast for a 9mm. I have Hs-6, red dot, and unique on the bench. Also, im casting these bullets for a couple of friends and the wifey. They all have different 9mm. Obviously they will all slug out at different sizes. I am powder coating my bullets as I have had tremendous luck with a variety of 40 s&w guns. Is it safe to just size all the bullets at 356 or 357 and hope for the best? How would you go about doing this for that many barrels?

Slug everyone of them. You are probably going to need to size to 0.357" But I would rather slug them than have to clean up after the too small of bullet. After you find your largest bore, size to 0.001-0.002" over that. Then load a few of them up and see if they will chamber in all of them.

With that light of bullet, I would go with the Bullseye.

I load a 105gr SWC sized .358 with 3.0gr Bullseye. Nice light load,
YMMV always cross-check loading data, etc.

Like tomme boy said.
That's really the only way to do it right.

I size them all to 358 now and let it go. Simplifies the luber/sizer changeouts for 380, 9, 38 and 357. I do run the 380's thru 357 push thru to limit case bulging

If you don't have Bullseye, try the Unique. I tried both powders and got almost identical groups with that boolit from a Hi-power. Got the data from Lyman's fourth edition CB handbook.

You can use Unique, it doesn't meter well for me, so I switched to Win 231 (same as HP38).

With Win 231, start at 4.5 grans and work up until you get a load that works the actions on all of the different pistols.

I had no luck with HS-6; it left a lot of unburned powder.

Try sizing at .358" or not sizing at all (assuming your boolits come out of the mold at .357" or .358").

I ordered a 9mm mold yesterday it was the .356 120gr Lee truncated cone mold... I slugged my barrel tonight and it is .355, will .356 be good enough or should I lap the mold to get it to throw at at least .357?

My XD45 is right at .450 so my .452 mold on order should be fine, I guess I need to slug the 1911.....

Doc, that mold is known for making bullets that are 0.3575-0.358" I would size them to 0.357" and see how they work.

My mold drops at .358. I size to .357 as my barrel is .355. Sizing to .358 will work but is a bit tight in my chamber.
