Hi, first thread in this forum.
I've just bought this mold: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?133289-462-Hammer-GC-Mihec-Cramer-HP and have never done anything else then tumble lube and I'm wondering if tumble lube is good enough to this boolit?
I will be using wheel weights.

I will shoot it in a Marlin 1895 GS 45-70 and will use it to hunt wildboar, elk and deer here i Sweden and will load it pretty hard.

Try a couple coats of tumble lube. If that doesn't work, I hand lube with homemade 50/50 beeswax and moly bearing grease.

At 45-70 pressures a good tumble lube should work.

Good luck.

You may get leading if you push it too fast.
If you do, you can always try pan lubing.
The fit to your bore is VERY important. I size mine to .4595" and my bore is .4582".
Hope this helps !

Thanks for your answers!
I've read about pan lubing, but never read anything about hand lubing?
And how do you mix the beeswax and moly bearing grease?

I've cast some of those for a couple of friends. I pan lubed them with "speed green" lube. I would also think they could be tumbled successfully.

you are gonna have to push it through a sizer to seat the gas check anyway.
so I'd just take a look in the lube section for a pan lube recipe.
size and check your boolit in the sizer, then pan lube and be done with it.
