Took the GP100 Match Champion out this afternoon with some LEE 158 SWC TL and the LEE WC TL 3.2 gr. Red Dot. Lubed with 45/45/10. Just stood at the back of the truck and shot enough to fill the ice cream bucket about 1/3 with empties. Did nothing but shoot sticks that were poking out of the snow. Really need to have your trigger control two cut sticks in half. Had to put the chains on my little 97 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive to get in and out but it was nice to be outside. The dogs enjoyed the exercise also.

been a while huh?

the wheel guns do have their charm in the winter.
I hate stomping around looking for my brass, then finding it frozen at the bottom of 6-8"s of snow.

How fun.

I spent the afternoon after work, running the snowblower through the remnants of 9 inches of heavy wet snow, and the lighter drifted snow on top of it.
-4˚ windchill. About 2 weeks before I can even attempt shooting.

never shot in the snow. Did shoot in a Texas summer one time that was so hot the empty cartridges were puddles of brass by the time they hit the ground.

That reminds me of the time here in Iowa, it was so hot and humid the empties from my Glock just hung in the air. Never hit the ground wind blew them away...

Where is that at Tazman? Always on the lookout for more places to shoot.

A place called shooting stars. Nice place. Friendly. 12 lanes. 25 yard length. Has an attached archery range as well.
Google will give the details as they have a web site.

Were going to have to get some Iowa guys together and show people how its done.

Well dang. I guess I have it made in GA today. Gonna gather up some stuff and go shoot out on the power line on my deer lease. It's gonna be in the 50-60* range today.

Still gonna use my wheel guns. I hate picking up brass.

If you were there between 2:30 and 4:00 pm I was there on the range blasting away or talking in the shop.

What is snow? I shoot every week, at least once, sometimes twice if I'm developing a new load.

Never shot when it was that hot but did have a few summer casting sessions when I had to wait for sundown to gather up my fresh boolits, too hot to handle while the sun was up.

44man I figured if I have to pay the postage I might as well wear out a couple more today. Hope you don't mind.
If I could get a pic to load you would see a 10.5 inch Ruger 44 SBH, a Browning Buckmark. And a couple hundred empty 44s. Anybody else having trouble uploading picks??

When we shoot in the snow, we favor snowballs for targets. They explode nice when hit. Bring a spray bottle with some food coloring in it to make them easy to see.

I shot an ISPC in Wichita Falls, Texas, on July 4th. Worse yet, the match was held in a gravel pit and there was no air moving. Hottest I have ever been. We still talk about it and it was 18 or so years ago.

161: I figure I'm about in between you and TommeBoy. It's about 30 miles to Clinton or Tipton from here. Been shoot'n almost all winter. My 50 foot pistol range is in an outbuilding (of sorts). No wind, rain, or heat (yet), nothing fancy, but no $12.00 per hour either. I even manage to catch the lead. Always interested in meeting local casters, loaders, and shooters. Bob
