I finally got a newer generation laptop that has windows8. I took it and the old one to a guy who switched everything over and set it up to work like windows7. He has all my favorites listed alphabetically now which I like....how do I keep listing them that way as I add or delete them? Thanks.

Right click a blank area of your desktop, click sort by name.

when you have your favorites open, you can drag and drop them just like files.

Win8 is a really hideous mess, IMO. I have set up two systems for family members and after the second
one, I went out and bought three new machines with Win7 to maximize the time that I could stay away from
that *** mess of a PHONE operating system on a computer.

I own 2 Windows 8 computers. I installed stardock start8 on both. Works just like Windows 7. Only $5.

With a laptop, you'll still have to watch the touchpad swiping. If you stay away from the edges of the touchpad, you'll be fine.

The answer to sorting your favorites is to right click on the list, then click the Sort option.
Right click on a single favorite, then properties to name them properly.

If it's a non touch screen then I agree. I really like it on my ultrabook. I don't run it in the stupid app mode. And I run Start8 to give me all the familiar options. It's made for a touch screen and excels at this. It's a lot eaiser to use the computer by touchscreen then the touchpad. This is the first OS since XP that I've had no issues w/.
