This is sort of a curiousity question mostly. On most lube sizer dies their is an "O" ring at the top of the die. What is the other groove just below that for? I had a Lyman .355 sizer I was using and it suddenly started leaking lube out of the top of the die. Can another "O" ring be put in that groove?
I did have a heck of a time getting that die out of the 4500 it was really stuck and the center pin kept pushing completely out of the die. Is that normal?

Can't answer about the second groove but if your die is leaking then you are applying too much pressure on the lube screw or you need to replace the O-ring.
If dies are hard to remove just heat it up with a hair dryer.

The older sizers made by Ideal and Lyman, the #1 and the #45, fasten the die in place with a set screw, so that wide shallow groove on the die is for the setscrew to seat into.

I've noticed if I leave the dies in for a long length of time they stick, but mine has seeped from day one from the bottom. Probably cause I keep the pressure on pretty good.
