Rossi 92 45 colt

Will a Rossi 92 feed a 300 grain Lee RF boolit It is a GC boolit. Front or back groove? If so, hunting load.

Mine will--does. It also shoots quite well! Front or back groove, hmmm, I'll have to go look BRB,,,. Don't have any loaded right now, don't remember which groove I crimped in. It should work in either one.

Oh, hunting load. The Rossi 92 will handle any lever gun loading, so a good charge of Aliant-2400 should be a fine hunting load. Another good powder would be Alliant power pistol.

Mine will handle them seated in the lower groove, but my rifle is also a 454.

Just shoot 50 of 'em this past weekend thru my Rossi. 2nd groove. HF black ES coated.

It delivers an UNBELIEVABLE punch!!!!!! Split several small logs at 35 yards!

No leading!

Mine will only feed if seated to the top groove. Nonetheless, The 300 grain boolits don't always arrive point on. I suspect I need to drive them harder or the twist is inadequate. The curved steel butt plate is not conducive to absorbing a lot of recoil. MY LBT .454-280 LFN boolit seems to be the perfect match for twist and feeding. Gota love those guys at LBT!

Mine has a rubber butt pad. Id trade fr a cresent.

my 45-70 is a crescent plate.
with 435 grain boolits coming along at 17-1800 fps it ain't so fun at the back of the box of rounds.
if your oal is in the 1.620 or shorter area the 300's should feed and chamber just fine.

I have a cimarron 1892. 12.5 grains blue dot and seated in top groove (deeper) is a great relatively moderate accurate shooting load. Feeds like a champ. For a more powerful load I'd go with 2400 or H110. See ruger only data. Only thing, as stated above, get a butt pad! I use cimarron leather butt pad. I assume Rossi and Chiappa/cimmaron are relatively the same.
